Trolley Bags

How annoying is it when your half way around the supermarket and realise YET again you have left your plastic bags at home. Please tell me its not just me!?...

Seeing as I have now spent several 5p's on plastic bags I have decided to invest in these amazing Trolley Bags.

I actually found these when searching though my Instagram feed and Trolley Bags had put an ad there. I decided to click on it and have a read and see how they worked and most importantly how much they were.

I couldn't believe I hadn't came across them sooner, as there is so many places that sell them. However the cheapest place to buy them from was Trolley Bags themselves with both being £17.99

So a little bit about them, they are a four piece set that roll into a neat velcro fastened package. They can hook onto the trolley so they are out of the way while you are shopping. They are available in two sizes meaning they fit perfectly into the large and shallow trolleys.

When the bags are unrolled they sit perfectly within the trolley and rest on the sides. This then gives you four open and upright separate bags to pack and sort your shopping out with both hands.

Once back at the car, you just separate each bag across the velcro and lift each one individually into the boot in seconds. They are easy to lift with sturdy handles and made out of strong netting and material. This means they're not going to brake and snap like the other plastic bags do.

Once back at home and unpacked it only takes a minute to join them all back together ready for your next shopping trip.

Now on to forget them, to be honest since I have bought and started using them i haven't forgotten them once. I don't know if it still the excitement of using them (sad i know) Or Where I keep them rolled up sitting by my front door Or the bright multi colours that remind me before I leave. What ever it is I'm no longer having to spend 5p's on the horrible plastic bags. Which lets face it, there not a bag for life anyway.

I thought I would just share my recent find and love with the Trolley Bags with you. Let me know if you have them or if your thinking about getting them.

Kids Christmas Eve Box

As I have mentioned so many times here and on my YouTube channel. I wanted to make this christmas more magical then I have in previous years. Freddie is now at the ages that he is starting to understand it all and I know there isn't many years left with Taylor believing.

As some of you may already know if you watch my videos and read the post, this year we are joined by an elf on the shelf. As Christmas Eve is the last full day the elf will be with us before heading back to the north pole with Santa, I thought he could bring the boys a little present.

I have seen so many people talking about Christmas Eve boxes at first I didnt know what it was all about. However after I read and watched a few videos I thought it was a really nice idea. On Christmas Eve we normally just relax and watch christmas films and get ready for the fun filled day ahead. So that gave me a few ideas of what to put in there and after reading a few other blogs they gave me ideas as well.

I decided to just get one box, as most of the things in there they will be sharing anyway and the other things are the same so they couldn't fight over them. So today i thought i would share the things I'm putting in their box, and this may give you a few different ideas. I hope you like them....

After their christmas eve bath they can snuggle up in their fresh christmas theme pjs. Also they will look nice in the pictures/videos in the morning opening their presents.

A Christmas Book

I have decided to get the night before christmas as this years book to put in their box, but there is so many christmas books to choose from.  I just thought it was the perfect story to read to them before bed, that will make there imagination go wild.

Christmas DVD

A perfect way to end the day to sit down as a family and watch a christmas theme film. Christmas eve wouldn't be christmas eve without a classic christmas movie to get you in the christmas spirt.

Magic Key

If your house is like ours and doesn't have a chimney, you could add in a magic key. I found our key on amazon and the reason I bought this was because of the rhyme on the tag. Last year Taylor asked why it didn't actually fit in the lock so i thought this was perfect.

Reindeer Food

We normally leave carrots for the reindeers, but when i found this i thought it was just another brilliant idea. I think we will leave carrots as well as the reindeers are working all night and they need lots of food :)

Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows

Hot chocolate is one of my favourite winter drinks and this year my boys have been enjoying it too.  curl up as a family with a hot chocolate, in your christmas pjs under a cover watching a christmas film. Perfect!

A new christmas theme mug/cup/beaker to use for your hot chocolate just adds that extra christmas feeling. Then in the new year your children can carry on using it as their hot chocolate cup to remind them of there magical christmas eve.

Popcorn, Sweetie and Goodies

Turn off the lights, have a bucket of popcorn a bag of sweet and a pot of crisps it will just be like being at the cinema.

Christmas Theme Bath Bomb/Melt

Having a mummy that is LUSH mad, that can only mean one thing. A christmas eve bath with a dashing santa bath bomb to make there bath all glittery and magical.

Activity Pack

Having these in the christmas eve box could be a good idea for many reasons. Christmas eve when your trying to get them last minute jobs done. For younger ones that don't always sit though a film could sit and colour instead. Also if you have to travel to family and friends over the holiday this could be ideal for the children in the back of the car.

A cracker, my boys like to pull crackers so i thought i would also add one in here too. Maybe you could all pull the cracker at dinner time or even save them for christmas day.

Decorating cookies set

Another activity that i thought would be nice to do as a family during the day or after dinner. You could then leave one out for santa.

Letter from Santa / Elf

I will be having a letter from our scout elf in our christmas eve box but if you don't have a elf you could put a letter from santa.

Finally I am putting all of this in this box that i found in B&M for £3.99. It is really strong for the price, it has poppers to pop it altogether. This means you can dismantle after christmas eve and keep it and reuse it again next year.

Head over to my youtube channel and watch my video to find out where and how much all these thing were that are going into the box.

My November Favourites

This monthly favourites are very autumn/ winter related things. The weather started to change and get quite cold at the beginning of November meaning i used and like a lot of different skin and hair related items.

Make up

Soap and glory perfect ten eyeshadow pallet, that i found stashed at the back of my makeup draw. I fell back in love with this product and have been using it daily, there is 10 colours in matt and shimmer. The colours are really pigmented and make a lovely smoky eye.

Collection contour and highlight pallet i bought to do the £20 make up challenge on my YouTube channel. I love this pallet, the contour is a cheaper dupe for hoola bronzer by benefit. It is a lovely natural looking tan colour and blends really well. The highlight is gorgeous, it just gives a lovely shimmer along the cheek bone. For the price of this pallet its amazing, if you haven't tried this and you don't like to spend a lot of money on makeup then give this ago, you won't be disappointed. Also check out my £20 makeup challenge to see what other products i used to create a autumn winter look.

Sleek vamp lipstick is the first berry coloured lipstick i have bought and loved. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone this autumn winter time and wanted to have a nice berry lip. Even though its a matt lipstick it isn't drying and lasts really well. I defiantly think i'll be wearing this for many years to come during the autumn winter time, its my perfect shade.

Soap and Glory's breakfast scrub has been my favourite scrub this season. The smell is a fabulous maple scent that smells so good i want to eat it! Its made with oats, sugar and shea butter, it is a gentle scrub but still leaves skin so soft. It has bio scrubs with bananas, almond and honey extracts. Even though i have been using this since the end of September I'm not even halfway though the pot, it goes a long way.

Another soap and glory skincare item i have been loving is the hand cream. I have used this for the past two years during the colder months. I suffer with dry and cracked hands, but using this in the morning and before bed it keep my hands moisturised and hydrated. This tube isn't to big either to carry around in your handbag, coat pocket or in the cars door pockets.

Hair care

Aussie 3 minute miracle colour conditioner is a Miracle. After one application, my hair feels so much better. This product has aloe vera and wild peach extract so smells amazing. Its a deep conditioner that revitalise and replenish coloured hair. Yet again i tend to use this once a week and my hair feels so good after using this.

Bleach blondes shampoo and condition by lee Stafford has been a real life saver for my hair. I have bleach highlights though my mid length and ends, and with the cold air it made my ends really dry. My blonde was also starting to become a little brassy and this purple shampoo and condition lightly tones refresh and restores blonde hair. I only use this once or twice a week, then I use my other shampoo and conditioner in-between

Schwarzkopf diamond color illuminating oil is another item i found at the back of my draw. When i got back from our family summer holiday in Zante. My hair was sooooo dry it was like straw, So when I was looking though trying to find something to use on my hair i found this. I have been using it since, I only use two pumps onto my palm of hair rub my hands together and run my fingers though my damp hair before drying.

Lastly HOT CHOCOLATE my favourite winter drink of course topped with cream and marshmallow :)

Snapfish Calendar Review

When Snapfish contacted me and asked if I would like to create a personalised calendar. I was so excited and couldn't wait to start creating it.

I visited there website straight away, where I found Four different types of calendars, with many sizes and themes to choose from. Different backgrounds, Layouts and Titles is just the start of your personalised calendar. Being able to edit your own pictures zooming in and out, changing from colour to black and white and sepia with many more to choose from. There is red eye corrector, being able to change the brightness and flip and rotate your pictures

After all that, there is also another brilliant feature on the classic wall calendars. You can personalise special dates not only with captions but with photos as well. This is a great way to remember birthday, anniversaries and holidays.  What is much nicer and easier then having to write them all in when it arrives. Meaning your able to hang it and start enjoying your new personalised calendar straight away.

They're a great gift for family, friends and of course for treating yourself. I decided to do two calendars for different rooms in my house, using different styles and different themes.

The first calendar i created was the desk calendar, in a very girlie pink theme. What i wanted to match but stand out in my working space. I used pictures from a recent photoshoot of my boys and I, Some I kept in colour, others I changed to monochrome and sepia. I also changed up the pink background and the photo layout thought the calendar.

My second calendar I created to hang in my kitchen. I used older and natural family photos, using the seasonal theme backgrounds. Yet again I used the different effects to change up the pictures. As this was one of the classic calendars I was able to add in my special dates. For this I used some of my own pictures and others I copied off of google images and upload to Snapfish.

My calendars turned up in separate packaging and different days however both arrived within a week. The calendars were in a "do not bend" Snapfish envelope to keep them in the best possible quality.

The price of these calendars are very affordable, you can tell snapfish use the best possible paper, card and equipment to create them. I am so pleased with my calendars, the pictures are really clear even the ones I used form google.

If you are struggling to think of a gift for a family member or friend this christmas Snapfish could be your conclusion. With so many different products to choose from there is something for everyone.

The Elf On The Shelf

The Elf On The Shelf is a little scout elf that is sent to you from santa, The reason why, How and When is down to you. The elf is nameless and it is down to you to name him/her, once you have named your elf they receive their magic.  This allows the elf to fly to and from the North Pole to report to Santa the activities, good and bad, that have taken place throughout the day.

The book and dvd are a great way for the children to understand what the elf is all about. As they both state "There's only one rule that you have to follow, so I will come back and be here tomorrow: Please do not touch me. My magic might go, and Santa won't hear all I've seen or I know."

Although the children are told not to touch their scout elf, they can talk to it and tell it all their Christmas wishes. The story ends on Christmas eve with the elf leaving to stay with Santa and returns again next year.

I have made a few decision on how the Elf is going to arrive and what our elf will be like (mischievous) I have come up with places around the house where the elf will take place and also some funny and mischievous pranks that we will wake up to.

I bought the Elf on the shelf, the book and dvd from Amazon. All three were sold separately so if you don't want the book or dvd you don't have to. However they are a good way of explaining what the elf is all about. I do recommend the dvd for younger children as i find seeing it will give them a better understanding than the book. The reason I bought all three was so that the following year I can just read the book when he returns.

In December I will be doing Vlogmas! So head over to my youtube channel to see what we get up to, and of course see what our elf gets up to :) Don't forget to hit that subscribe button.

Christmas Book Review

A few weeks back i was in Morrisons doing my weekly shop when i walked past a cardboard temporary bookshelf. You know the ones, They are normally in the middle of the isle making it difficult for two trolleys to pass without hitting one another.

I don't normally stop and look to see what is in them, however this day a book caught my eye. I stopped, picked it up and read a few pages. It bought a smile to my face so i had to get it.

Its a lovely book an ideal story to read to your child/ren before bed on Christmas eve. It's a traditional christmas eve story told in a wonderful rhyme with a few modern touches. The illustrations are really beautiful, very colourful and nicely detailed.

The blurb (writing on the back of the book) say's "Santa can't visit until you're fast asleep, So snuggle down and read what happens on Christmas Eve when things don't quite go to plan.  Find out what happens to Santa on Christmas Eve when he has trouble with his sleigh and is late arriving to your house!

I bought the Kent version of this book, which mentions many different towns around Kent. It feels very personal which makes the child able to relate to the story.

There are many versions of this book, with many cities within the UK, Ireland and a few U.S as well. These can be found on the authors website

This book is one of the best christmas stories I have found for children in a very long time. How my boys reacted when i read it to them, i would say they agree.

My eight year old kept saying thats near us, when i read out the towns. My two and a half year old sat nicely listening and pointing to the colourful pictures.

This book is brilliant for a range of ages, I have found Taylor a few times sitting reading the book to Freddie. Super cute!

Let me know if you have got this or thinking about getting this book and what version you will be getting.
